Tolerance day

On September 15, 2010 in the building of the Parliament of Georgia was held an event "The Tolerance Day."  The people and communities living in Georgia took part in the evening. The event was opened by the Vice-Speaker of Parliamen Gigi Tsereteli, who pointed out that from the ancient times to the present day the representatives of many nationalities and religions live side by side in Georgia in peace and harmony and that fact makes Georgia a unique country. Ukrainians, Russians, Ossetians, Assyrians, Kurds, Poles, Chechens, Azerbaijanis, Czechs, Germans, Greeks, Jews and other nationalities showcased life and the culture of its nation at the exhibition.

The corner of Armenians at the exhibition has been presented and arranged by the public organization the National Congress of Armenians of Georgia.  The guests stayed long at the stand and could not hide the excitement. Pomegranate wine, brandy, national tools and clothing, Mount Ararat by Tengiz Mikoyants, ancient writings and carpets all was tastefully exposed for the visitors!
